Your first Sunday
We have been expecting you
First visits can feel like a lot. Here is everything you might want to know before you come — the times, the parking, what to wear, and what happens when you walk in the door.
“Come and see.”
John 1:46

What to expect
Your first Sunday, step by step
There are no surprises here. This is what a morning at Canaan looks like from the parking lot to the closing prayer.
You will be greeted
Someone will meet you at the door with a handshake and a bulletin. If you tell us it is your first time, we will help you find a seat and point you to Sunday School.
Come as you are
Some folks wear their Sunday best, others come in a pressed shirt or a clean pair of jeans. Nobody is checking. Wear whatever you have and come with a heart ready to worship.
The service is about an hour
We sing, we pray, we give, and we hear the Word of God preached. There is no pressure to stand up, speak out, or give anything as a visitor.
Bring the children
Children are welcome in the service, and Sunday School at 10:00 AM has classes for every age. If your little one gets restless, nobody will mind.
Getting here
908 Trask Pkwy, Sheldon, South Carolina
We are on Trask Parkway in Sheldon, between Beaufort and Yemassee. Turn in at the church sign and you will see the building set back among the oaks.
Questions
Things people ask before they come
What time should I arrive?
For Sunday School at 10:00 AM, arrive about ten minutes early so we can walk you to a class. For Sunday Worship at 11:00 AM, come a few minutes before and someone will help you find a seat.
Where do I park?
There is parking on the church grounds off Trask Parkway, with room to pull right up to the front door. If you need to be dropped off at the entrance, that is easy to do.
Is the building accessible?
If you have a wheelchair, a walker, or trouble with steps, call the church ahead of time at 843-846-4175 and we will make sure you are looked after and seated comfortably.
Can I watch before I come?
Yes. Sunday worship streams live at 12:00 PM on both YouTube and the church’s Facebook page, and past services stay on the channel. Watching first is a fine way to get to know us before you walk through the door.
How do I join the church?
Come forward at the end of a service and speak with the pastor, or call the church at 843-846-4175. He will talk with you about your confession of faith and about baptism.
I have not been to church in years. Is that all right?
It is more than all right — it is exactly why we are here. You will not be judged or put on the spot. Come and sit down, and let us be glad you came.
Still wondering about something? The assistant in the corner can answer most questions about times and directions — or call us at 843-846-4175.
Let us know you are coming
You do not have to tell us — but if you do, we will watch for you and make sure someone is at the door to welcome you.
